DCS Upgrade - Paper Mill
A 7000 I/O Electrical & Control Upgrade in which Pro-Built Control completed both the project management & hardware installation. Machine shutdown and entire control system changeover completed in 3 days.
Paper Coating Machine Safety System
Siemens S7-300 Safety Processor, 6 Profi-Bus Remote IO Nodes with Safety I/O.
The Safety PLC controls redundant safety contactors to remove power medium from machine drives.
Crawl speed monitoring is accomplished with a PILZ Safety PLC.
E-Stop and safety system indications on a Siemens 10 Inch Colour Touch Display.
Industrial Bakery Oven & Prover Retrofit
Upgrade of existing outdated control and sensors to an Allen Bradley Compact Logix PLC with 15 inch colour touch HMI screen.
New PLC program developed to allow a standard motor control structure, and flexible recipe capabilities.
The upgrade included a safety system upgrade to CAT 3.
Industrial oven upgrade
The upgraded hardware consisted of 300 I/O using Allen Bradley Compact logix system coupled with a PV+1500 colour touch screen. The new design and layout was completed by PBC and incorporated all customer requirements whilst conforming to their in house standards. The upgrade was made especially difficult due to missing data, CAD and no scope. PBC's engineering team recreated the scope and drawings and completed the changeover in just 48hrs including commissioning meaning that no production losses where recorded...
12 Mega Watt Turbine System
Pro-Built Control's installation technicians installed 20km of cabling to the 90 instruments along with 300 digital I/O. The work includes;
- Engineering to review IO list
- Create loop drawings in AutoCAD
- install all cables in IO list
- Install excitation regulation, generator protection, synchronisation cabinets
- connect instrumentation, UPS and Power Cables
- Testing and commissioning of all I/O
Hydraulic Press Safety System
Nine Press safety systems were developed to raise the safety level of the 6000 tonne press to CAT 3.
This project included fabrication and installation of machine guarding, installation of hydraulic safety valves,
Jokab Pluto safety PLC installation, programming and commissioning.
Paper Rewinder Safety System
Pro-Built Control have designed, installed, and commissioned four Paper Rewinding machine CAT3 safety systems including;
- Dual channel emergency stops
- Solenoid Gate Locking
- Pneumatic and hydraulic safety valves
- 10 inch colour keypad HMI
- Zero and crawl speed monitoring
- Safety light curtains, floor scanners
Pulp & Paper Mill Server & Network Cabinet Installation
Three HP server network cabinets were upgraded to comply with site standards. Cabinet designs were created with servers and
networking installed based upon these designs.
These standards include;
- Individual Colour CAT 5 patch lead for each of the 8 separate networks
- Labels on every patch lead to indicate origin and destination
- Server rack cable management kits
